ABOUT THE SEASON

Opera de Metro is proud to announce our second season, with two wonderful shows and more events bringing opera to your neighborhood. The heart of our season offers Purcell’s tragedy Dido & Aeneas and Mozart’s well-known comic opera The Marriage of Figaro, in a contemplation on opulence, power, and human vulnerability. Additionally, we look forward to featuring alumni singers in our season kick-off Voices in the Vineyard, a casual evening celebrating our new season, and a holiday presentation of Handel’s Messiah. This season also includes our first vocal competition, Concours de Voix, giving emerging singers an opportunity to showcase their skills for a local panel of judges. We can’t wait for another year of making music in Metro Detroit, and we look forward to seeing you in the audience soon!
